Heritage Canoes - Bringing Canoe History to Life
A selection of canoes, primarily of wood and canvas construction, that will let you experience the fun of paddling the sleek and efficient predecessors to today’s modern polyethylene and composite canoes. Some are ready to paddle, some need a bit of attention, some need some dedicated loving hands.
The good news is we have a local (Groveland) resource that can help you restore these beauties. Stevens Canoe Works (stevenscanoe@gmail.com, or 978-374-1104) is local, experienced and welcoming. We also highly encourage you to check out (and join) the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (wcha.org) to connect with an amazing community of folks who love these boats.
